Expected results

Through this project, we learned that aerosols play a complex role in air pollution, global dimming, and climate change. We understood that solving aerosol pollution requires more than reducing emissions; it also requires scientific monitoring, international cooperation, economic policies, and careful climate adaptation. Overall, we learned that aerosols are both an environmental and social challenge that must be managed carefully for long-term sustainability.

Expected results in the future

In the future, we expect that stronger aerosol research and monitoring will help countries better understand how aerosols affect air quality, global dimming, climate change, and agriculture. With improved satellite observations, climate models, and ground-based monitoring, governments may be able to track aerosol movement more accurately and create better policies for reducing harmful pollutants.

 

We also expect that international cooperation will become more important, especially in regions like Northeast Asia where air pollution crosses national borders. If countries work together through shared data, coordinated emission reduction strategies, and stronger environmental agreements, aerosol pollution and fine dust problems could be reduced more effectively.

 

Economically, policies such as fossil fuel subsidy reform, carbon pricing, and emissions trading may encourage industries to move toward cleaner energy. If these solutions are managed carefully alongside greenhouse gas reductions, countries can improve air quality while reducing the risk of sudden climate instability caused by the loss of aerosol cooling effects. Overall, the expected result is a cleaner, healthier, and more climate-resilient future.
